We started in March. Here is exactly where we are.

236 students have made an account and finished 387 lessons between them. There are 2 courses live and 26 lessons published. That is smaller than most of the sites you will land on today, and we would rather tell you that than pad it out. We write more of it every week.

There is one thing we are not small at. In June the same four of us organized boroCTF, an international competition with CyberAcad behind it — over 2,000 competitors from 93 countries, 100+ original challenges, and us on call for the whole weekend. The teaching side is still catching up to that.

Why it costs nothing

One seat at a decent security course runs into four figures. We were the students who could not pay that, so we built what we wanted instead and left it open. CyberAcad is a registered 501(c)(3) — EIN 41-5007585 — and donations cover the servers the labs run on. There is no paid tier further in. That is the whole business model.
