Help us keep this free
CyberAcad is a 501(c)(3) run by students. We write the lessons, we host the Linux labs, and we pay the server bill every month. A donation here is not disappearing into an overhead budget, it goes straight into that bill. Gifts are tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.
Where it goes
We run our own infrastructure, so there is very little sitting between a donation and a lesson going live.
- Servers
- Every lab is a real Linux container running on a machine we rent by the month. It is our biggest bill by a long way, and it goes up with every student who signs up.
- More lessons
- 2 courses and 59 lessons so far (Intro to Linux and CyberPatriot Linux: Tokyo Jujutsu High), with more being written. Every one was typed by hand by a student who had to learn it first.
- Competitions
- We ran boroCTF in June: 2,000+ competitors from 93 countries working through 100+ original challenges. Challenge servers that survive a weekend of people actively trying to break them are not free.
- Keeping it free
- No tuition, no paywall, nothing to buy first. A student with a school laptop should be able to get through the browser courses without spending a cent. Donations are the reason that works.
